Los Altos Community Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) that relies primarily on donations, service fees, and an annual grant from the Packard Foundation to fund its programs, community grants, operations, and small staff. The following charts illustrate LACF’s income sources and expense categories.
For the year ending June 30, 2011

For the year ending June 30, 2011

As the above expense breakdown illustrates, a significant percentage every granted and donated dollar flows to LACF’s programs, projects, events, and contributions to the community.  Practically speaking, each LACF staff person spends much of their time every week devoted to community building activities. You, as a donor, can feel comfortable that most of your donations benefit the community and do not fund “overhead”.
