Dr. Pelham has enjoyed a 38-year career in the field of aging. In addition to her work at San Francisco State University, she serves as President of the National Association of Professional Gerontologists and has received awards from the Association of Gerontology in Higher Education, the International Federation on Aging and the City of San Francisco. A fifteen-year resident of Los Altos, Dr. Pelham is founding director of the Center for Age Friendly Excellence (CAFE), a World Health Organization recognized program of the Los Altos Community Foundation. She has also served as chair of the Los Altos Senior Commission.
