Executive Director Roy Lave of the Los Altos Community Foundation (LACF) today named Nan Recker the new Program Coordinator of the MVLA Community Scholars program.

Operating under the direction of LACF, the Scholars program provides college scholarships and individual mentoring to high-potential, underserved students graduating from theMountain View-Los AltosHighSchool District.
“Nan comes to us with a strong background in local school administration, having served in key positions with Bubb and Castro Elementary Schools PTAs, and she has a passion for helping disadvantaged youth”, said Mr. Lave. Ms. Recker’s background also includes co-founding and serving as Co-President of the newly formed Mountain View Whisman Special Education PTA (SEPTA). She is a Mountain Viewresident, and graduated from Leadership Mountain View in 2007.
In her role as Program Coordinator for the MVLA Community Scholars program, Ms. Recker comments, “”It is rare that a person gets to do the kind of work that is truly gratifying. Helping people get ahead in life is something I am deeply passionate about, so I am truly grateful that I get to do what I love to do for a living.”
The Los Altos Community Foundation is a non-profit organization servingLos Altos, Los Altos Hills and the surrounding communities.
