The Los Altos Community Foundation is comprised of citizens who care deeply about strengthening the community, making it a enriching place to live and work, preserving and expanding its historic and cultural assets, and supporting community nonprofits that serve those in need.
The Foundation is governed by a 28-member Board of Directors comprised of local community leaders, and operates on a committee structure to provide support to the many facets of the Foundation, including finance, grantmaking, programs, development, planning giving and more. The Board meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 7:30-9:00am, at the Neutra House, 181 Hillview Avenue, Los Altos.
The Foundation’s staff includes a volunteer Executive Director, a program officer and an executive assistant who provide for the day-to-day leadership of the Foundation.
LACF encourages and welcomes community members to become active in the Foundation, through volunteering to serve on the Board or a committee, participating in a Foundation program, establishing a charitable fund, and by joining our list of "Founders" who provide financial support that make LACF’s programs and projects possible.
The Neutra House Fund at LACF was established to raise funds to move and restore a 1939 home designed by reknown architect Richard Neutra. The Neutra House sits next door to Community House, will be used as a community meeting facility and will include a local architectural history exhibit. More...
