Neutra House Rental

Reknown architect Richard Neutra built homes all over California, and one of his projects — known in architect circles as “Three Small Houses in an Orchard” — was built in 1939 on Marvin Avenue in Los Altos. Decades past — the train tracks were replaced by Foothill Expressway — and orchards gave way to neighborhoods of ranch style houses.

But one small house in the orchard remained, and through the efforts of many community members, an effort was organized to save this local example of “modernist” architectural design.

In November 2005, the cottage was moved from its location on Marvin Avenue to its new home next to Community House. The preservation and renovation project for the house is currently underway and slated for completion in June 2008.

The Neutra House is available for community use. For more information on this project, or to make a reservation to use the Neutra House, please visit the Neutra House website.
