Social Impact Programs

As an active partner in supporting our local communities, LACF believes its investments should extend beyond simply awarding grants. Creating social impact also involves supporting the leadership development and engagement of local residents.

LACF currently manages the following three community-focused programs:

E3 Youth Philanthropy educates, engages, and empowers local youth to create positive change in their local communities. Participants both learn the values of philanthropy but also how to address local critical issues.

Leadership, Education & Advancement (LEAD) provides local residents with an opportunity to meet with and learn from civic leaders and advocates, elected officials, nonprofit professionals, and key volunteers. The hands-on education provides a platform for participants to become more engaged locally in both volunteer and professional capacities.

The Los Altos Block Action Team (BAT) program engages volunteers in community preparedness, mitigation, and response to local disasters.

"Thanks to LACF's Block Action Team program, our neighborhood has become better prepared for emergencies and also a closer and friendlier community."
